Acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Lucid · Dream Journal mobile application ("the app") provided by awarself. By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
The service
The app lets you record dreams, request AI-generated interpretations, view patterns across entries, and optionally back up your data to the cloud.
The app is free to use. Core features are supported by ads — banners, interstitials, and an optional rewarded video that earns you in-app credits ("Moons") for AI features. There are no in-app purchases.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater) to use the app. By using it, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Your account and data
- You are responsible for the security of any device on which the app is installed.
- If you sign in with Google, you authorize us to associate your Google identifier with your in-app data for cross-device sync.
- You may delete your account and data at any time from within the app.
Your content
You retain ownership of dream entries and other content you create. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and transmit your content as necessary to provide the service (including sending entries you select to Google Gemini for interpretation).
Do not enter content that violates law, infringes others' rights, or contains the personal information of others without their consent.
Moons (in-app currency)
Moons are an in-app virtual currency used to access AI features. The full economy is documented inside the app at Settings → How Moons work. The terms below summarise the legal points.
- Moons have no real-world cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are non-transferable between accounts.
- Each AI dream interpretation costs 1 Moon. Each multi-dream pattern analysis costs 3 Moons. We may change these costs in the future.
- Free daily Moons (currently 3 per day) reset every 24 hours at local midnight and do not accumulate.
- You can earn additional Moons by watching rewarded video ads, capped at a daily limit (currently 10 ads per day). The cap resets at local midnight.
- There are no in-app purchases. Moons cannot be bought with real money. The only ways to obtain Moons are the daily free grant and rewarded ads.
- A daily ceiling on AI calls per account (currently 30 per day) protects our shared AI service from abuse. Past this ceiling, we cannot process more AI requests until midnight local time, even if you have unspent Moons. Unused Moons remain in your balance for the next day.
- Your Moon balance and daily usage are stored in your cloud profile and sync across your signed-in devices.
- If you delete your account, any unused Moons are forfeited and the cloud record is erased.
- We may adjust costs, daily limits, or the size of the free daily grant. Material changes will be announced in-app. Existing Moon balances will not be reduced.
AI content disclaimer
AI interpretations and pattern analyses are generated by automated systems for reflection and entertainment. They are not medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, or professional advice. Do not rely on them for any health, safety, or significant life decision. If you are experiencing distress, please contact a qualified professional.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for illegal activity or to violate any law in your jurisdiction.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our API keys or AI prompts.
- Submit content designed to abuse, harm, or harass others.
- Use automation, bots, or scripts to interact with the app or third-party services through it.
- Bypass or attempt to bypass ads, Moon costs, or other product mechanics.
Termination
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or use the app in a way that risks harm to other users or to the service.
Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that data will never be lost.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, awarself will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the app. Because the app is free and contains no in-app purchases, no fee-based liability cap applies to your use.
Changes
We may update these Terms over time. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where awarself is established, without regard to conflict of laws. Disputes will first be sought to be resolved informally by contacting awarself@gmail.com.
