Privacy policy
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how awarself ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Lucid ยท Dream Journal mobile application ("the app"). By using the app, you agree to this policy.
We aim to collect only what is necessary to provide and improve the journaling and AI interpretation features. We do not sell your personal data.
Information we collect
- Account info โ your name, email, and profile photo from Google when you sign in, used to identify your account and sync your dreams across devices.
- Dream content โ the titles, descriptions, mood tags, custom tags, dates, and lucid flags you save in the app, plus any AI interpretations you request.
- AI interpretation requests โ when you ask for an interpretation, the dream content you choose is sent to a third-party AI service to generate the response. See AI interpretations below.
- Moons (in-app currency) โ your current balance, daily ad watches, AI calls made, and ad-earned totals, used to run the in-app economy and sync it across devices.
- In-app activity โ app opens, screens viewed, dreams created, interpretations requested, ads watched, used to run features and improve quality.
- Diagnostic data โ anonymized device info (type, OS, language, region) and crash logs.
How we use your information
- To provide core journaling, search, statistics, and reminder features.
- To generate AI dream interpretations and pattern analyses on your request.
- To synchronize your dreams and Moons balance across devices when signed in.
- To deliver advertising (banner, interstitial, and rewarded video) and measure its performance.
- To diagnose crashes, prevent abuse, and improve features through aggregate analytics.
- To communicate with you about important changes to the service when needed.
Service providers
We use service providers to run sign-in, hosting, AI interpretation, analytics, and advertising. They handle data only on our behalf, never for their own purposes. The full vendor list and data-type disclosure is in this app's Data Safety section on Google Play.
AI interpretations: what to know
When you request an AI interpretation, the dream content you provide is sent to Google's Gemini API. Avoid including sensitive personal information (real names, addresses, identifiers) in dream entries you plan to interpret.
AI interpretations are generated by software for self-reflection and entertainment. They are not medical, psychological, legal, or professional advice.
Data retention and deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (in-app under Settings โ Account โ Delete Account, or by emailing awarself@gmail.com), we delete your dreams, balance, and profile from our active systems within 30 days.
Aggregate, anonymized analytics events that cannot be tied back to you may be retained beyond that period. Purchase records may be retained as required by tax or accounting law.
Your rights
- Access โ your dreams are always visible in the app.
- Deletion โ use Settings โ Account โ Delete Account to remove all your data, or email awarself@gmail.com.
- Correction โ you can edit any dream entry at any time.
- Withdrawal of consent โ delete your account to stop processing.
Depending on your region (EU, UK, California, etc.), you may have additional rights under applicable law. Contact us at awarself@gmail.com for any such request.
Children
The app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data in transit is encrypted using TLS. Data at rest is stored on managed cloud infrastructure with standard security controls. No system is perfectly secure; we recommend you not store information in dreams that you would not want stored on a server.
International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries outside your own by our service providers. By using the app you consent to such transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or via email if you have signed in. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
