Ads & In-App Unlocks

KpopChat has no in-app purchases. You can't buy anything with real money. There are no subscriptions, no payment screens, and no surprise charges — ever. KpopChat is funded entirely by ads.
How the app is funded
KpopChat shows three kinds of ads, all delivered by Google AdMob:
- Banner ads on a few screens (home, menu, friend profile, chat). They stay at the edge and don't interrupt what you're doing.
- Interstitial ads shown briefly between certain transitions (e.g. switching themes, opening some screens). These are full-screen for a few seconds.
- Rewarded ads — short videos you can choose to watch in exchange for unlocking something in the app.
What rewarded ads unlock
Rewarded ads are always optional. You only see one if you tap a button to start it. They unlock things directly:
- More chat — when you've used your message quota in a conversation, watching a rewarded ad lets you keep chatting (extra messages and/or extra time).
- A new AI friend — watching a rewarded ad unlocks the next AI K-pop fan persona to chat with.
The exact quotas (how many messages per ad, how long chat stays unlocked) are tuned over time and always shown to you in the app at the moment of unlock.
What there isn't
- No coins, no balance, no currency. Watching a rewarded ad gives you the unlock directly — there's nothing to accumulate or save up.
- No purchases. No way to pay money for an unlock. No store, no checkout, no Play Billing.
- No trading. Nothing to send to other users.
- No refunds. Since you didn't pay anything, there's nothing to refund.
Account closure
If you delete your account, your conversation history and ad-unlock activity are permanently erased along with the rest of your data. See Account Deletion.
Changes
We may adjust unlock quotas based on how the app is used. Any changes are reflected inside the app and on this page.
