What coins are
Excuse Genie uses an in-app coin balance to let you unlock creative tones and extra generation options. You earn coins by using the app; you spend them on specific features. Your balance is tied to your account and persists across devices.
How to earn coins

- Profile completion — fill in your profile details once and earn a one-time bonus.
- First share — share an excuse for the first time and earn a one-time bonus.
- Rewarded ads — watch a short opt-in ad to earn coins. Capped at a few times per day so it stays a perk, not a grind.
- Daily streak — open the app on consecutive days. The bonus grows the longer your streak runs.
- Achievements — unlock in-app achievements (each pays out once).
Exact coin amounts are set via remote configuration and may be tuned over time, but the earn methods above are always available.
How to spend coins
- Creative tones — the dramatic, genius, and cringe tones each have a coin cost per use. The everyday tones (believable and funny) come with a free daily allowance that resets at midnight — no coins needed for those.
- Regenerate — not loving an excuse? Spend a small number of coins to have Chamo try again.
- Sharpen — spend coins to expand an excuse into a longer, more vivid version.

The everyday tones reset daily at your local midnight. You will always have some free generations each day with no coin spend required.
No purchases, ever
There is no in-app purchase system and no way to buy coins with real money. No payment information is ever collected. If you see a third-party service offering Excuse Genie coins for purchase, it is not affiliated with awarself.
What happens to coins when you delete your account
Your coin balance is permanently deleted along with your account. Coins have no monetary value and cannot be refunded or transferred.
